The social network made announcement this week that it is altering or tweaking the algorithm responsible for determining what you get to see on the top of users’ News Feeds.
At present, what is most particularly featured in the News Feed is sourced from what users are, clicking, liking, commenting on as well as sharing. Yet Facebook reveals of late, it has been asking people of their opinions as to what they really intend seeing relating to content which they possibly get to see at the top of their feed. Consequently Facebook will execute the collected adjustments.
“News Feed will begin to look at both the probability that you would want to see the story at the top of your feed and the probability that you will like, comment on, click or share a story.” Facebook engineers said in a blog post. “We will rank stories higher in feed which we think people might take action on, and which people might want to see near the top of their News Feed.”
In this vein, it is thus possible for those who run Facebook pages to see some changes.
“In general this update should not impact reach or referral traffic meaningfully for the majority of Pages; however, some Pages may see some increases in referral traffic, and some Pages may see some declines in referral traffic,” Facebook says.
